Poly-cotton twill aprons for uniforms and industrial laundry.

When an apron goes through a commercial laundry every week, fabric chemistry matters more than hand feel. Poly-cotton twill — typically a 65/35 blend in a diagonal weave — is colorfast, crease-resistant, and dries fast, which is why hotel and restaurant uniform programs standardize on it.

In hand

Hand feel, durability, and look of poly-cotton twill aprons.

Hand feel

Smoother and lighter than canvas, with a slight diagonal texture. It irons flat in seconds and looks uniform straight off a hanger — no broken-in period needed.

Durability

The polyester content is the point: colors survive tunnel washing, seams resist twisting, and shrinkage stays negligible even under commercial heat.

Look

Crisp and consistent — the fabric for programs where apron number 500 must match apron number 1, this year and on the reorder.

Weights

Available weights and finishes.

Weight is the first spec to settle — it decides drape, protection, and price. Every weight ships as a physical sample before bulk cutting.

Best for

Which industries use poly-cotton twill aprons.

Decoration

How to put a logo on poly-cotton twill.

  • Embroidery

Excellent — the stable weave holds logos flat through hundreds of wash cycles.

  • Screen print

Good — use low-cure inks formulated for poly blends to avoid dye migration.

  • Heat transfer

Good for numbering and names on uniform programs.

  • DTG

Not recommended — DTG inks bond best to high-cotton grounds.

Care

  • Commercial-laundry safe: tunnel wash and high-heat finishing tolerated.
  • Home care: machine wash warm, tumble dry medium.
  • Skip chlorine bleach on dyed grounds; oxygen bleach is fine.

Answers

Questions buyers ask first

Why do uniform programs pick poly-cotton over pure cotton?

Consistency and cost per wash. Poly-cotton holds color through industrial laundry, resists wrinkles out of the dryer, and shrinks negligibly — so a reorder two years later still matches the first run.

Will screen prints crack on poly-cotton?

Not with the right ink system. We use low-cure, bleed-resistant inks on poly blends and cure them to spec; properly cured prints survive dozens of washes.

Can twill be soil-release finished?

Yes — a soil-release finish is available for food service and automotive programs, so oils release in a normal wash instead of setting into the weave.
